Middle of Summer Skin Care

Posted On: - 2014-07-29 10:13:20

This time of year marks the middle of summertime. And thankfully, there are more weeks to come.

Right around mid to late July and into August people start to become lax with skin care safety.

“This is an important time to reinforce how important it is to continue sunscreen diligence and to take other measures to keep skin safe,” said a spokesperson from Skin Care Heaven, an e-commerce and skin care research center in San Diego. “We can have those great days in the sun, but be cautious in terms of not getting overexposure which jumpstarts premature skin aging and skin cancer.”

Skin Care Heaven, a leader in promoting skin care safety, shares a few of their skin care tips:

Keep It Covered

Coat exposed skin with a broad spectrum sunscreen of at least 30 SPF. Don’t forget the ears, back of legs, tops of feet and hands, and receding hairline spots.

On a warm day, a person can cover up with loose fitting, lightweight paints, long sleep tops and a wide-brimmed hat. And don’t forget the sunglasses.

Retreat Indoors

Being indoors to avoid the hottest, sunniest part of the day is advisable. Try to give skin breaks between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Think Organic

Organic skincare products, such as DermaEarth, have come a long way in rejuvenating the skin. In terms of sunscreen, be sure the ingredients listed are protecting.

Stay Hydrated

Water is the number one “go to” drink for hydration after a day in the sun. But remember, certain fruits are hydrating and offer wonder great antioxidant benefits such as watermelon, citrus, berries, and cucumbers.

Sunscreen has come a long way.

“There is a different sunscreen out there for everyone and aren’t thick and greasy,” said the spokesperson. From sport sunscreens to lounging at the pool and beach sunscreens, industry standards have raised the bar in solar protection.”
