Skin care changes after 40

It has been said that life begins at 40. That may be true, but it may also be time to begin a more serious skin care routine.
People will begin see aging on their faces. How much of that depends on if a person went out frequently in the sun without sunscreen, what they have been eating, their lifestyle and how faithful they have been about their skin care regimen.
“Even those who have a strict skin care habit, are bound to see some signs of premature aging here and there,” said the spokesperson for Skin Care Heaven, an e-commerce store and skin research center based in San Diego. “It’s all normal, but maybe it is time to look at specific products that concentrate on the areas around the eyes, mouth and forehead where noticeable aging begins first.”
Some of these signs are fine lines, age spots, large pores, rough patches and sagging skin.
But, don’t despair, there are ways a person can stop and even reverse premature damage to the face. And finding the right anti-aging skin care product line will help.
Here’s how to go about tackling those premature aging challenges:
Slather on the sunscreen: Sun worshiping without sunscreen is the leading cause of premature aging. The sunscreen to pick is one with at least SPF 30 and get in the habit of using it every day no matter what.
Exfoliate: A few times a week after using a soap-free cleanser, exfoliate away those dead skin cells which will reveal more youthful looking skin. Read the label to determine the recommended use.
Retinol: This ingredient has been proven to reverse sun damage. Retinol creams are made up of a topical form of Vitamin A, which allows rapid cell turn-over. It removes old cells and lets new, healthy cells shine through.
“Also, another suggestion is to find an anti-aging skin care product that multi-tasks. For example, find a cleanser that not only removes makeup, dirt and oil, but exfoliates and hydrates at the same time,” the spokesperson said.
